Day 12 (10/09): Casserole
Updated: Sep 16, 2021

On day 12, I switched things up a bit. I was getting tired of eating and making sweet food (yes, this shocked me too), so I decided to make a casserole.
Fun fact: According to the internet, while baked dishes have existed for thousands of years, the traditional idea of a casserole started becoming common in the 1950s as different kinds of glass cookware appeared on the market.
I took inspiration from this recipe by Betty Crocker. I made the casserole in an oven-safe glass dish. I oiled the container and added 1/2 a cup of pizza sauce. On top of that, I added half a bowl of just undercooked pasta. On top of the pasta, I added half a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 4 cheese slices. I repeated these layers to get this delicious dish!

This was my first time making baked pasta. It was an interesting experience because I'm used to baking sweet dishes. I'd love to try it again!
See you tomorrow :)
