Happy Birthday, Saanvi! + How To Decorate A Cake
Day 280 (5th June)

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CAKE. PERIOD.
I made this for Saanvi's birthday — she very kindly ordered it from me! I won't share the exact recipe (again, it's for an order), but here are the steps of the process of assembling the cake:
Start with two vanilla sponge cakes.
Place a cake board/parchment paper on a turntable.
Place one vanilla cake on top of the cake board/parchment paper.
Create a "well" by piping buttercream on the circumference of the cake.
Add caramel/any other filling to the middle of the cake.
Place the second sponge on top.
Use buttercream to do a crumb coat.
Refrigerate the cake until set.
Scrape off the excess buttercream. Patch the areas that are not covered well.
Using a chocolate ganache and a teaspoon, create a drip on the sides of the cake.
Chill the cake for five more minutes.
Pipe buttercream on the edges of the cake.
Add sprinkles to the bottom of the cake.
Add flowers on top of the piped border.
Add freeze-dried strawberries to the top of the cake near the border.
Embed small silver pearls on the top of the cake.
Write the age in the middle using sugar icing!
I'm aware that this sounds complicated, but I tried my best to be as clear as possible. If you have any questions, send in a comment, and I'll reply as soon as I can.
(Also, I hope y'all like the collages :D Photo credits to Saanvi, who is a very talented photographer. Check out her page here!).
